MySQL Databases in cPanel#

Modern web applications (WordPress, WooCommerce, Laravel) store posts, customer accounts, and settings in MySQL or MariaDB relational databases.


Creating a Database with MySQL Database Wizard#

    In cPanel, navigate to Databases -> MySQL Database Wizard.

    Step 1: Enter your database suffix (e.g. wp). Full name will be cpaneluser_wp. Click Next Step.

    Step 2: Enter a database username and click Password Generator to create a strong password. Save the password securely, then click Create User.

    Step 3: Check the top box ALL PRIVILEGES and click Make Changes.

Managing Databases via phpMyAdmin#

  • Exporting Backups: Open phpMyAdmin, select your database on the left, click Export -> choose Quick format: SQL -> click Export.
  • Importing Databases: Click on the target database -> click Import -> choose your .sql or .sql.gz file -> click Import.
