Common DNS Record Types Explained#

How to Add a DNS Record in cPanel#

    In the Domains section, click Zone Editor.

    Locate your domain and click Manage.

    Click the blue + Add Record button.

    Enter:
  • Name: The hostname (e.g. subdomain.yourdomain.com or @).
  • TTL: Time-to-Live in seconds (Default: 3600 or 1 hour).
  • Type: Select A, CNAME, TXT, or MX.
  • Record / Value: The destination IP address or text string.
